Tour of Asheville

WEST Integral to the Asheville Renaissance is the revitalization of the Haywood Road section of West Asheville. This area was once a town unto itself and in many essential respects remains so - or, more accurately, has returned so. West Asheville has a character distinct from that of Asheville as a whole, with homes, and a sense of its roots as a generally working-class little burg.
Also in the Western part of the county is Leicester and Enka/Candler. Enka/Candler is a mix of older homes and newer, more suburban-feeling developments. Enka is home to subdivisions including Biltmore Lake, Biltmore Commons (condos), Crowell Farms, etc. as well as a campus of AB Tech, the Biltmore Square Mall, and the BASF plant.
Leicester was once primarily more rural farm land. Today the area is spotted with farms, older homes, and newer developments. Wonderful pasture and long-range mountain views can be enjoyed in Leicester.
