Tour of Asheville

NORTH A great deal of Asheville?s historic architecture can be found in North Asheville. Just outside the I-240 loop that outlines downtown you?ll find Montford. Now home to many B&Bs, these structures were once grand, single-family homes.
Just East is Grove Park, home to and namesake of the famous Grove Park Inn & Spa. There are many grand homes constructed during the period of the Inn but also many mid-century homes of ?modest? size. Grove Park is a walkable and very aesthetically pleasing community.
As you travel north on HWY 25 away from downtown Asheville, you find yourself surrounded by homes built in the early 1900s. For instance, the Beaver Lake Community was developed before the Great Depression with grand homes, a master golf course (now home the Asheville Country Club) and a beautiful lake where there once ran a trolley from Asheville to Weaverville.
Further out HWY 25 and beyond the city limits you?ll reach the Town of Weaverville and the surrounding area, there is a more suburban feel and often beautiful long-range mountain views.
